Back in October I had the pleasure of photographing Gaynor and Mar’s beautiful wedding at Heskin Hall in Lancashire. Mark is the dad of one of my previous brides, Emma, and I was so happy when Mark booked me so I could see all of the family again. There were so many beautiful moment between Emma and her beloved grandma, Bigley, at her wedding as there were at this wedding.
Mark is no stranger to expressing himself through clothes and he didn’t want to get married in a standard suit. He wore a fantastic steam punk outfit for Emma’s wedding so I knew he’d have something special planned for his own. He did not disappoint! Gaynor’s dress completely complimented the look and they both looked absolutely brilliant.
Gaynor and Mark just don’t stop smiling and laughing. After 8 years together they are just so in love. They used the time that we had for their portraits just basking in that newly wed magic and it was such a privilege to be able to document that. I look at the photographs and am just reminded of Gaynor looking up at Mark and saying “we are going to have a brilliant life together you know” Of this I have no doubt.
There were so many memorable moment of this wedding including me almost falling out of the wedding car taking a picture of Gaynor’s mum doing up her daughter in law’s shoe, Gaynor’s mum exclaiming “I am just SO proud” as Gaynor was walked down the aisle by her brother and thinking that nobody had heard her, Gaynor and Mark being pelted with an array of confetti from Adam Apple and belly laughs from Mark’s sister and nieces when Bigley emerged from behind her thank you flowers like a jack in the box! Incidentally, Bigley is planning to find herself a toyboy so I can come back next year to shoot another family wedding, I am holding her to that!
