I first met Sean and Rob at Joanna + Chris’s wedding a few years ago. They weren’t engaged at that point and I remember messaging Joanna saying if they ever got married I had to photograph their wedding! I think you’ll see exactly why when you go through their gorgeous wedding photographs at the Hope Street Hotel in Liverpool’s Georgian quarter (which they picked as their venue after seeing my blog of Gemma + Tony’s wedding!) It’s not hard to see why given that it’s sandwiched right between Liverpool’s two famous cathedrals with stunning views of both as well as the Liverpool skyline. I’ve photographed weddings at the Hope Street Hotel lots of time but this was the first since the opening of the brand new Five Two floor and the huge new modern reception area, which has the best arches for taking pictures through! The new space is absolutely incredible and ideal for larger wedding parties so was perfect for Sean + Rob’s ceremony, wedding breakfast and big old party (you may recognise Jess + Dan throwing some shapes on the dance floor) I think it’s one of the few venues in Liverpool city centre with so much outside space and when the golden light hits the Metropolitan Cathedral it’s complete bliss, I made Jonathan (their usher and whose wedding I photographed in December!) run and get them when I saw that light!
What I just loved about this wedding is that Sean + Rob did their wedding their way. They decided they didn’t really want getting ready pictures so instead I met them at The Quarter where they had their pre wedding brunch (the staff there were gorgeous) and we explored the Georgian Quarter after they were dressed and they were a complete joy. They so clearly adore each other and they really made my job so easy as they didn’t stop laughing. We then went up on terrace so that they could FaceTime Rob’s dad who was too poorly to attend, Such a personal and touching detail to their day.
Their gorgeous dog, Toby, walked down the aisle before them and was the star of the show roaming around floor Five Two confirming that Hope Street is an incredible dog friendly wedding venue! These guys don’t take themselves too seriously, when the registrar inadvertently called them “husband and wife” they laughed their heads off with their guests!
Sean and Rob are loved by everyone. They are the friendliest, kindest and funniest people and are the some of the most appreciative people I’ve met. Sean and Rob, hugest congratulations. You deserve all the happiness in the world and being part of your wedding was a complete privilege.
“WE ABSOLUTELY LOVE THEM RACHEL!!! Each photo took us back to a feeling or a memory; we were able to relive so much of the day. We haven’t been able to fully appreciate them in any way so far, as we are too excited / emotional. I can’t wait to continue looking at these photos for years to come. You captured the day and us as a couple to perfection!! We can’t thank you enough!!! This is why we chose you and why you are so so good at what you do. Since meeting you at Joanna’s wedding, we wouldn’t have had anyone else 💙💙💙 Lots of love, and expect more messages of amazement to follow. Xxx”
