I’ve lost count of how many times i’ve photographed Kate, Gary and their gorgeous little boys, Jack and Arthur. Arthur was just a baby when I first photographed them and he was just about to start school this time! Gary’s sisters were over from America and France so it was a great chance to have some photos altogether and for the cousins to have a lovely play together at their garden at home in South Liverpool. Having photos at home means little ones are so relaxed as they are in an environment that is theirs. Is also means that all their toys are there so they just get stuck into playing without worrying about me being there and joining in!
We had everything home on from hammocks, to bubbles, to skipping ropes (which also doubled up as bike towing!)to frisbee throwing which varying degrees of success! What I loved about this shoot is that the adults just gave the children the freedom to play as they normally would rather than encouraging them to perform for me. , without fail, get way better images this way that are completely honest. They represent the children just as they are and captures laughter, a bit of sadness and a few near misses as well as their bonds with each other. These sessions always worth so brilliantly when the grown ups get involved with the play as the children just love it. They also show that no matter how old you get you always revert back to childhood when you’re with your siblings!
If you’d like your family photographed either at home or anywhere else you love just pop me a message.
