“Rachel photographed our wedding a couple of weeks ago and we knew from the moment we met her she was the photographer for us (I was personally loving the matching sunshine yellow pumps and bag ) I could’ve written this review before I’d seen a single picture, I had no doubt they’d be amazing and they are. Rachel is an incredibly talented person and alongside this she’s warm, perceptive and genuinely interested in you and your day. If you haven’t found a photographer for your wedding yet, you have now.”
Amanda and Ross were married a few weeks ago at Rowton Hall Hotel, just outside of Chester. I absolutely LOVED this wedding!
Ross’s proposal has to be the best i’ve ever heard. When Ross came home from his (2nd) first date with Amanda he wrote her a letter telling her he knew that he had met his wife. He sealed it up and gave it to her 2 years later when he proposed. This just sets the scene about this gorgeous pair.
It was clear for all to see on their wedding day just how much they love each. I have never seen a couple so giddy to see each other when they met at the top of the aisle. They were just so delighted to be married that nothing else mattered. Not even a heavy downpour during their Mr and Mrs photos, we just ran to the nearby greenhouse. As you do!
Amanda has a cracking sense of humour. Her only stipulation the first time we met was “no photos of my shoes!” So on the morning I said right i’m taking a picture of your shoes on the loo, and I did just to make her laugh! She was so chilled out on the wedding morning and had the best laugh with her bridesmaids, make up artist and hairdresser (the mega talented Emma Williams and Charlotte Medford Hair Design)
Amanda was beyond excited on the wedding morning and when the vintage bus, that took the wedding party to Rowton Hall, arrived. I have never heard a bride scream so enthusiastically! Amanda made no secret that she was more excited about bus than she was her dress and had been looking at pictures of the beauty for months beforehand! Ross arrived in a bright blue camper van called Percy but it was really all about the vintage bus! It should be mentioned that the amazing guys from the Yorkshire Vintage Bus Company stayed, unbeknown to us, for an extra 2 hours as they knew Amanda really wanted some newlywed photos on the bus so a huge thanks for that.
The theme was Lego as Ross has loved it since he was a little boy and has collected pieces from all around the world. There was an amazing Lego table plan (that included Amanda’s amazing suit hire shop, Larry Adams, who suited and booted the men!), Lego button holes, incredible Lego centre pieces (keep your eye out for the first date recreation!) and amazing Lego favours which kept everyone very well entertained. Some more so than others who got very creative with their efforts! Amanda’s extremely talented bridesmaid, Becky, made the incredible wedding cake which also had a fantastic Lego twist.
Amanda and Ross had thought of everything to make their wedding day brilliant including choosing the the incredible Simon Brown to entertain as well as drafting in Bluey and Baloo who entertained all of the children so that their parents could enjoy a bit of adult time during the wedding breakfast. Big thanks also need to go to the fab videographer, Dave, from B2B Productions who was brilliant for the whole day and whose amazing light during the first dance was pure heaven for me!
In his speech Ross said “when Amanda is in the room there may as well be nobody else there” I think this pretty much sums up many of these photographs of them. They are so connected, so in tune with each other and so, so in love. Thank you so much for choosing me to document your day, it was a privilege.
Here you your (many!) best bits.
